what to know about workshop
SWC follows the co-teaching method, meaning each workshop is taught by two faculty members. This offers more synergy and insight in the classroom. You will be assigned to one faculty member with whom you will meet individually and who will direct discussion of your manuscript in workshop (with the other faculty member also contributing input in the classroom).
Workshops meet on alternating days for a total of five two-and-a-half hour sessions, during which your manuscript will be discussed with a class of twelve writers.
Participants are not expected to provide written feedback to one another, only to be prepared to discuss each others' manuscripts in workshop.
You will be able to access participant manuscripts online via Google Docs a month before the conference begins. As part of our sustainability plan, printed copies will not be provided, though you are welcome to print them yourself if you desire.
