As resident playwright at Stage Left Theatre (Chicago), I've written a new play that mixes puppetry, poetry, and surrealism to explore the stories of women who've disappeared throughout time. It's called Witches Vanish, and it'll be included in LeapFest in May and June. Meanwhile, my book I Love You Terribly: Six Plays has just been published by Carnegie Mellon University Press.

Helen Wan
Fiction/2005
I had a wonderful experience at the conference in 2005, and just wanted to share some happy news about what became of that manuscript that I workshopped with John Casey and Randall Kenan. My first novel, The Firm Outing, will be published by Macmillan/St. Martin's Press in early 2013. Here's the write-up about it in Publishers Weekly. I couldn't be more excited, and just wanted to thank the SWC community for being such a supportive and encouraging place for writers! I'm truly grateful for the encouragement and feedback I received there.
